Precision temperature control starts with a precision temperature sensor. This is a ±1% thermistor that is 20 kΩ at 25°C.
Wavelength is transitioning to a small epoxy-coated bead head with a 2.4 mm maximum outer diameter for applications where embedding the thermistor is required. Old phenolic-backed stock will be depleted before shipping new epoxy-coated stock. The epoxy-coating ensures durability and protects against exposure to moisture, high and low pressure, and corrosive environments. It has solid nickel wires with Teflon® insulation to provide isolation when assembled in metal housings.
Dissipation Constant is ~1 mW / °C in still air.
Thermal Time Constant is ~1 second in stirred liquid.
It is ideal for sensing temperature when embedded in materials or small laser packages. A complete Resistance vs. Temperature chart is included in the datasheet. It is sold in packs of 10.
